June Kress, Planning & Coaching

June Kress is a consultant to nonprofit organizations on board of director and governance challenges, and an executive coach to leaders and aspiring leaders in the corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors on workplace performance challenges.

June has 35 years of experience in the Washington region’s nonprofit sector as a board leader, board member, and executive director. She received her coach training at Georgetown University, and is certified by the International Coaching Federation. She has a BA in sociology from NYU and a master’s and doctorate in criminology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Kress served as Executive Director of the Council for Court Excellence from 2004 to 2017, was a founder of Friendship Place, and received the Benjamin E. Cooper Award in 2002 and 2011. Other board service includes St. Luke’s Shelter, Anne Frank House, National Child Research Center, Adas Israel Sisterhood, Tzedek DC, Interfaith Action for Human Rights, Council for Court Excellence, and the DC Bar Board of Governors. She also chairs the Cosmos Club Admissions Committee.
